  • Spirit Rock Meditation Center - a meditation center dedicated to the teachings of the Buddha as presented in the vipassana tradition. The Center hosts a full program of ongoing classes, daylong, and residential retreats.
  • Buddhist Peace Fellowship - an organization at the forefront of socially engaged Buddhism. Through projects and publications, BPF strives to apply Buddhist principles to issues such as human rights, systemic violence, economic justice, and environmental sustainability.
  • Tricycle: The Buddhist Review - a non-profit quarterly magazine with an educational charter to spread the dharma.
  • Inquiring Mind - a semiannual journal dedicated to the creative transmission of Buddhadharma to the West.
  • Turning Wheel - the tournal of socially engaged Buddhism.
  • Earth Sangha - a Buddhist environmental organization committed to practical environmental action that is informed with the Buddhist principles of nonviolence, tolerance, self-awareness, and compassion for other living things.
  • Sakyadhita - The International Association of Buddhist Women ("Daughters of the Buddha")
  • Women Active in Buddhism - a collection of links and resources on contemporary Buddhist women.
  • Journal of Buddhist Ethics - a journal promoting the study of Buddhist ethics through the publication of research articles, discussions and critical notes, bulletins, and reviews.
  • Think Sangha - a socially engaged Buddhist think tank that uses a Buddhist sangha model to explore pressing social issues and concerns through friendship and Buddhist practice as much as theory and thought.
  • Buddhist Alliance for Social Engagement (BASE) - a project of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship that provides six month support communities for the study and practice of socially engaged Buddhism. Participants work or volunteer in service or social action, and meet regularly for study, support, discussion, training, and meditation.
  • The BPF Prison Project - a project of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship that is deeply committed to working with prisoners, their families, and all other persons associated with the prison system to address the systemic violence within the prison-industrial complex. They are committed to engage in compassionate action through: 1) ministry; 2) correspondence; 3) training; and 4) advocacy, education and networking activities.
  • Prison Dharma Network - a nonsectarian Buddhist support network for prisoners, prison volunteers, and correctional workers. The mission is to support prisoners in the practice of contemplative disciplines, with emphasis on the meditation practices of the various Buddhist traditions.
  • Sarvodaya USA - an organization whose mission is to build a North American community which expresses the ideals of the Sri Lankan Sarvodaya movement. Sarvodaya's community development methods are designed to build from traditional values and culture while simultaneously promoting skills and commitment to nonviolent social change.
  • Gay Buddhist Fellowship - an organization that supports Buddhist practice in the gay men's community.
  • Buddhist AIDS Project - all-volunteer, non-profit organization that serves anyone living with HIV/AIDS, including family, friends, caregivers and people who are HIV negative.
  • Kusinara - a Buddhist community for conscious aging.
  • DharmaNet Gateways to Buddhism - an online clearinghouse for Buddhist study and practice resources.
  • Access to Insight - readings in Theravada Buddhism.
  • Berkeley Buddhist Research Center - a center for research projects, teaching, conferences, seminars, and workshops affiliated with the UC Berkeley Group in Buddhist Studies.
