The Wednesday Night Vipassana Meditation Group was founded by Wes "Scoop"
Nisker in 1994.
The group meets at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 2727 College Avenue in
Berkeley at 7:15 pm. The group is affiliated with Spirit Rock
Meditation Center in Woodacre and the East Bay Dharma Center. For more

Teachers:
Bonnie O’Brien Jonsson has practiced Vipassana since 1993, has lead fifty year-long "A Year To Live" groups since 1998, and teaches workshops called Living Mindfully Now! nationally. She teaches meditation in prison and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction through the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine at UCSF. She is currently writing a book that explores her relationship to death as a guide in living life mindfully. www.livingmindfullynow.com
Richard Shankman has been a meditator since 1970 and teaches regularly at dharma centers and groups throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Richard is active in bringing meditation and dharma to prisons, and is a co-founder of the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies. His teaching schedule is listed at www.bodhicitta.org.
Richard is the author of a forthcoming book on samadhi (concentration in meditation) to be published by Shambhala Publications.
